Donnah Morgan has a birthday surprise for the Basement Project
When Donnah Morgan celebrated a special birthday just before Christmas she decided to give a surprise rather than receive one. Donnah, who runs DM Training, an organisation aimed at enabling individuals to reach their full potential, and who is a Network Leader of WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) asked guests at her birthday party to bring gifts for a raffle rather than for her or alternatively make a donation to a local charity.
And the charity she decided to support, as she had in the past, was the Bromsgrove Basement, a charity that supports homeless and vulnerable young people between 16 and 25 in the town and the surrounding areas.
So all of the guests at her party, many of whom run local businesses, provided a selection of items that enabled her family a friends the chance to win some excellent prizes – and the net result was a total of £300 that was raised on the night.
Donnah was able to present the cheque to basement staff at a recent open day.
